Watusi Cattle

Bos taurus africanus

Watusi cattle, also known as Ankole-Watusi, are a breed of cattle originally from Africa, particularly the Ankole region of Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi. They are characterized by their distinctively large, long horns, which can reach impressive lengths of up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) or more. These cattle are known for their striking appearance and are often kept for ornamental purposes or as a cultural symbol in their native regions. Watusi cattle are adapted to hot climates and are known for their hardiness and ability to thrive in harsh environments. They have a gentle temperament and are sometimes kept as pets or used for draft purposes.
